My mom had a great idea a couple weeks ago, to put up a chair rail looking thing around my workroom and use it to display current artwork. I tried to find some trim that was deep enough to balance things on, but had no luck. So, I modified the idea and made an 8' long narrow shelf for one wall. I used 1x3 (which is actually 3/4 x 2 1/2... explain THAT to me!) and nailed a length of "doorstop" on the edge to create a lip to keep the art from sliding off. I painted it orange because, like my dad says, "Nothing goes with white except your refrigerator!" and because that's the way I roll...
I also put up an Ikea wire thingy that used to hang in Hannah's room. I love the combo! Now I won't have work floating around my space constantly in my way.
