Just a Trim, Please

I am shocked and amazed at how little time it actually took to install new baseboard trim. By 12:30 yesterday, we had all the pieces cut and painted!

I LOVE our new saw. It made this project a pleasure! So, here we go. Finally, I am posting some pics of our living room.
 As you can see, our trim is not as wide as the old trim, and exposes some wood flooring that was previously covered up. Now we REALLY get to see the white paint they slopped on the floor because "What the heck, we're putting down carpet anyway!" All this will get taken care of this summer when we torture ourselves further by refinishing the floors ourselves...

Here you can see the bead that ran around the perimeter of the room. I painted that @*&#$ by hand, and finally finished today. It was a pain in the tush, but it made a big difference in the look of the room.

Here's another view where you can kind of see all three elements together. We are SO happy with our living room! The room has character, lots of warmth, and is very sexy - especially after dark.

I bought curtains, but am pressing them before they get hung up for good. The next step is to work out better lighting. We are not enamored with those Ikea torch lamps... We're thinking perhaps some eccentric wall sconces; antique-y looking maybe. As always, I will post my results.
