In our apartments, we've had extra closet space, but there was absolutely no place to stash my shoes when we moved in here unless I wanted to put them downstairs. They have spent the last month loitering about the hallway and stacked up against the wall in our room.

Now, after several days of sanding and priming and painting and planning, my shoes have finally found a home!

There are a few pairs still homeless, so I need to get back to the lumber store and make some more shelves, but I am so pleased to have my little shoes put up. They look so fun out on display. Now I'll never accidentally wear the second-best pair for my outfit since I can see them all so clearly! Yes, you can laugh at me for saying that.

lovely!!! and exactly how many pairs do you have????
Thanks!
Well, let's see... That's 55 on display, 10 waiting for more shelves, 6 pair of sandals I decided to put away for the winter rather than keep out, 6 pair of boots on the top shelf of my closet, and 5 pair on the way to Goodwill... So... 77 or so? :)
Haha I love it, Twila!!! It's so cute, it is like a shelve from a movie. I have to show it to my mom and friends. They will be amazed with you (again ;) )
Do you know how jealous I am of your insane number of shoes? haha. I normally only wear converse though, so it's all good. :)
Oh my! What a feat for your feet. My shoe filing strategy is the typical pile spreading to all dark corners in the bottom of my closet and beyond. Your shoes must feel SO special.
Speaking of which, your sis came to see me today. So nice to see her! And she got the full preview of my next masterpiece. It's a ... well you know what it is. And another one is brewing. :]
Thanks, Rosie! My happy shoes are a nice view to wake up to. :)
I can't wait to see your next masterpiece! I'm jealous that Faith gets to pop over to your studio as easily as heading to the grocery store! Now, as soon as we can find someone to create the shoes you paint, we'll be golden.
