But one of these was in the box with the new facuet, and it was nowhere on the supply list or in the directions. Does anyone know what it is?!

Looks marvelous! Good job :)
Dad knows and he says that that "tool" should not have been in with the new faucet - it is actually for the OLD faucet. If it leaks - tell dad!!!
